U.S. Rep. Fitzgerald: Applauds Israeli PM Netanyahu’s address to Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and attending his Joint Address to Congress.
“I am incredibly grateful to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for taking the time to meet with me today, in addition to his Joint Address to Congress. Mr. Netanyahu’s words were powerful and an urgent reminder to us members of Congress and America that we must remain steadfast in our commitment to our great ally, and only democracy in the Middle East,” said Rep. Fitzgerald. “Prime Minister Netanyahu provided me with an important update on the country’s efforts in permanently defeating Hamas and reiterated Israel’s commitment to bringing home the hostages still held by Hamas—some of whom are American. I had an opportunity to speak to family members of hostages when I visited Israel earlier this year, and it remains one of my top commitments to see that these families are reunited with their loved ones. Hamas’s terror must be brought to an end, and I will continue to support our ally Israel to ensure this tragedy is never repeated again.”
