Harris campaign: Vice President Harris fights to expand affordable housing for Wisconsin tribes

Four Native American tribes across Wisconsin will receive more than $20 million to invest in affordable housing projects thanks to Vice President Harris and the Biden-Harris administration. It’s the latest in a series of efforts from Vice President Harris to bring down housing costs and address the shortage of affordable housing while supporting Native tribes across the country. This year, she has helped deliver over $100 million in affordable housing grants across Wisconsin.

It’s a stark contrast to Donald Trump, who spent his career keeping rents high and putting homeownership out of reach for families. As president, Trump’s administration consistently tried to gut affordable housing programs and even attempted to triple rents on Americans in federally subsidized housing – putting one million children at risk of homelessness. Trump also consistently attacked Native communities as president, from fighting to block Tribes from receiving pandemic relief to pushing to hand over a sacred Tribal site at the behest of wealthy mining corporate executives.
