WisDems: Eric Hovde pulls out of forum with high schoolers after losing Senate debate

Wisconsin High School Democrats Call Out Hovde for Skipping Student Forum in Madison

MADISON, Wis. —  After having “the worst moment” of the Wisconsin Senate debate, Eric Hovde today pulled out of a forum with high school students at Madison West High School.

For months, Hovde touted his participation in this forum and falsely claimed that Tammy Baldwin wouldn’t participate. Today, Tammy Baldwin attended the forum. Eric Hovde did not, and instead retreated to do an interview on Fox News radio.

Chair of the High School Democrats of Wisconsin Aharon Shelef, a student at Madison West High School, released the following statement on Eric Hovde’s unexcused absence at the Madison West forum:

“After losing the debate to Tammy Baldwin on Friday, Eric Hovde is ducking forums and spending his final weeks in Wisconsin hiding from voters. Hovde knows he can’t defend his record of insulting Wisconsinites, including the young people he avoided talking with today.

“Meanwhile, Tammy Baldwin showed up like she always does and had an engaging conversation about how she plans to fight for Wisconsinites and protect our freedoms.”
