Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians: Recognizes State Representative Donna Rozar as a “Friend of Family Medicine”
(Thiensville, WI) – August 1 – The Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP) today recognizes state Representative Donna Rozar (R-Marshfield) as a “Friend of Family Medicine” for the 2023-2024 legislative session.
Representative Rozar was recognized as a 2024 Friend of Family Medicine due to her leadership as the Vice Chair of the Assembly Health Committee, including her efforts to strengthen the practice of family medicine, increase access to health care, and help ensure patient safety. In particular, during the 2023-2024 legislative session, the state Assembly approved legislation that expands rural medical residency grants and increases the Medicaid reimbursement rate for primary care clinicians in the state budget.
“The WAFP is pleased to present Representative Rozar with the ‘Friend of Family Medicine’ designation in recognition of her efforts to promote the role of family medicine in Wisconsin’s health care system,” said WAFP President Dr. Beth Menzel. “As someone who is a very experienced registered nurse and nurse educator, Representative Rozar knows the value of family medicine. We appreciate her continued work to strengthen the practice of family medicine, provide additional access to care, and help ensure patient safety,” concluded Menzel.
The WAFP represents the interests of over 2,900 members statewide, making it the largest physician specialty professional group in Wisconsin. The mission of the WAFP is to promote excellence in health care and to improve the health of the people of Wisconsin through the advancement of the art and science of family medicine, the specialty of family medicine, and the professional growth of family medicine physicians.
