Welcome PAC is spending $100,000 on a new ad saying 3rd CD Dem candidate Rebecca Cooke “gets us” while calling incumbent GOP U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden a “bully” who moved to western Wisconsin to run for Congress.
“We may not agree on everything, but we’ll always lend a helping hand to someone in need. Midwest nice, right? That’s Rebecca Cooke,” a voice-over says to footage of Cooke and her family, noting she’s a sixth-generation Wisconsinite who grew up on a dairy farm and opened a small business in Eau Claire.
“She gets us,” the voice-over says. “But Derrick Van Orden only moved to western Wisconsin to run for Congress, he’s a bully, he even cursed at kids touring the Capitol. That’s not who we are, Van Orden is not one of us—he’s wrong for Wisconsin.”
A spokesperson for Welcome PAC told WisPolitics the ad will run on digital and streaming.
