Voters of Tomorrow: Surpasses 30 million contacts as students form long lines to vote in battleground states
PHILADELPHIA — Voters of Tomorrow, the largest Gen Z-led voter outreach organization in the country, today surpassed 30 million direct contacts to young people in 2024, including more than 26.8 million texts and 3.2 million calls. As Gen Z voters turn out in droves to make their voices heard this Election Day, the group will continue to run its ‘Gen Z GOTV Marathon,’ with volunteers mobilizing young voters by phone and text until polls close.
“Across the country, we are seeing young people turn out in droves, forming long lines on college campuses in battleground states. Although no one should have to wait hours to vote, these lines signal what we have known for months: Gen Z will elect Kamala Harris and defeat Donald Trump today,” said Justin Meszler, programming director for Voters of Tomorrow. “So much is at stake for our generation, including our economic prosperity, reproductive freedoms, and health care. That’s why Voters of Tomorrow has made more than 30 million direct contacts so far, and why we will continue to mobilize young voters right up until polls close.”
Students are forming long lines to vote in battleground states and districts, including at Florida State University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Lehigh University, Arizona State University, Villanova University, Lafayette College, Cornell University, and Temple University. Student newspapers report that some of these lines are hours long and began as soon as polls opened.
