Tara Johnson campaign: Secures Democratic nomination for the 96th Assembly district
Viroqua, Wisconsin—Tara Johnson emerged victorious in the Democratic primary for the new 96th Assembly District, solidifying her place on the ballot for the upcoming general election in November.
Tara demonstrated widespread support throughout the district, including all of Vernon County and the southwest corner of La Crosse County. This win is pivotal for the 96th Assembly as voters rally behind Tara to defeat Republican incumbent Loren Oldenburg. With the primary victory, the campaign focuses on uniting the community and building momentum to win in November.
“Thank you voters of the 96th! I am so happy and humbled that our message of fighting for our neighbors, family and friends was heard. I look forward to meeting more folks throughout this beautiful district in the coming weeks. In my conversations with voters they have made it clear
they want a legislator who will fight for the issues that matter most to them; public education funding, affordable housing, healthcare and child care and reproductive freedom. That’s why I’m committed to fighting for our shared values and getting to work on behalf of our communities. Tara also wants to thank Steve Campbell for running such a positive primary campaign and for his involvement in and commitment to our community.
