MADISON, Wis – Yesterday, President Biden announced that he will not seek reelection for a second term. On this, Representative Kalan Haywood (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement:
“President Biden is an honored statesman, a champion for working people, and a truly devout public servant. His administration led us out of the COVID-19 pandemic, passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, and fought for historic student debt relief for tens of thousands of Americans. His time in office has helped working families across Wisconsin, and I am proud of the progress that has been made.”
“The President’s support for the City & County of Milwaukee cannot go unnoticed. His administration worked to bring direct investments into affordable housing & economic development that had a real impact on our neighborhoods. President Biden showed what is possible when we support working families & invest in their needs.”
