(The Center Square) – Wisconsin surpassed 1 million votes in numbers from Tuesday, with 609,461 total in-person absentee votes and 1.1 million total in-person and mail-in votes submitted.
The state has seen 1.25 million absentee ballots requested heading into the Nov. 5 election.
Early in-person voting runs through Sunday.
The largest county in-person vote totals are Milwaukee with 89,960, Waukesha with 77,064, Dane with 75,592, Brown with 29,080, Racine with 24,437, Outagamie with 23,072 and Kenosha with 20,020.
All mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to count.
Wisconsin had 3.6 million registered voters as of Oct. 1 with a new count expected to be released Nov. 1.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission has urged voters to rely on only official sources of information, like its website or a local municipal voting site’s information, because some voters are getting texts telling them that their voter registration or voter information is wrong.
Those without a valid photo ID can go to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to get a temporary ID for voting purposes –not a Wisconsin Voter ID, which does not exist – if they bring proof of name and date of birth, proof of identity, proof of state residency and proof of U.S. citizenship to an office.
