U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s campaign is airing a TV ad featuring law enforcement knocking his Dem opponent as a “political operative” who’s worked for “defund the police radicals.”
“Let’s talk about Rebecca Cooke: she’s a political operative, she’s worked for ‘defund the police’ radicals across this country,” one officer says.
Another man says Cooke “spent millions getting Mandela Barnes elected,” calling the former lieutenant guv and U.S. Senate candidate “the most anti-law enforcement candidate in Wisconsin’s history.” Another says Barnes said reducing the prison population is “sexy.”
The ad closes with Van Orden standing with a group of law enforcement as one man says Cooke will “never support us.”
A spokesperson for the Van Orden campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking more details about the buy.
