Keyeski campaign: Makes final pitch to voters, discusses issues impacting voters in 14th Senate District

MADISON, WI – Today, Sarah Keyeski made her final case to voters, discussing the need to address rising costs, healthcare access, childcare availability, rural communities, and reproductive rights. She was joined by local leaders from the 14th Senate District.

The participants released the statements below. A recording of the press call is available upon request to chandra@wisenatedems.org

Sarah Keyeski, candidate for the 14th Senate District, “The stakes in this year’s election could not be higher. Every layer of the ballot, from the very top to the very bottom, is critically important. I’m running to not only improve the lives of working people by easing the costs of childcare, healthcare, prescription drugs, and housing, but I’m also running to protect an individual’s right to control what happens to their own body, a fundamental right that must be defended.”

Ann Groves Lloyd, “One of the most important contrasts between Sarah and her opponent is the issue of women’s reproductive freedom and the role government has in making those decisions. Ballweg believes politicians should be in the business of dictating the personal medical decisions of Wisconsin women. In contrast, my friend Sarah Keyeski believes that women, not politicians, should be the ones deciding what happens to their own bodies. She would vote to repeal the 1849 abortion ban and would be a champion of women’s reproductive freedom.”

Chris McDonald, “As a mom of six, I know that Sarah understands the challenges that working Wisconsin families face. She understands the struggles of families like mine who are often forced to decide whether a parent should leave the workforce to stay home and care for their children or pay exorbitant costs for childcare. While her opponent has taken little action to address rising costs, I know Sarah will be a tireless advocate for families like mine.”
