Harris campaign: New radio ad touts Vice President Harris’ record of fighting for Black Americans

This weekend, the Harris-Walz campaign is launching “Foundation,” a new radio ad that spotlights Vice President Harris’ upbringing, values, and leadership. As president, she will continue fighting to lower prices and make the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share, so that every American can not only get by, but get ahead – because that’s who she is.

This ad is part of a seven-figure paid media buy for the remainder of August – and the radio blitz is targeting Black voters. The 60 second spot – and its corresponding 30 second spot – will air across battleground and national radio stations and pop up on popular radio shows like The Breakfast Club, The Morning Hustle, Urban One radio network, Steve Harvey, DL Hughey, Rickey Smiley, and Erica Campbell. Stations across Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada will play “Foundation” to reach Black voters where they are and earn the vote of every American who will decide this election.

The following is a statement from Harris-Walz 2024 Deputy Principal Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks:

“Vice President Harris understands what it’s like to come from the middle class, and her record makes clear that she’s never forgotten where she comes from. In voting for Kamala Harris, the American people know what to expect: a president who will wake up every morning fighting to protect them, lower costs, and give everyone an opportunity not to just get by but to get ahead – and that’s why they’ll send her to the White House in November.”

Voiceover: Standing up for everyday Americans is at the very foundation of who Kamala Harris is. Raised in a middle class home by a working mother, who instilled in her a passion for justice and equality.

That’s why when Kamala Harris became district attorney, she stood up for our kids, keeping them safe by prosecuting sex offenders. She also pioneered a program to give nonviolent drug offenders a second chance.

As president, Kamala Harris will continue the fight for everyday Americans. She’s already lowered the cost of your health insurance and medications. Insulin is now capped at $35 for seniors.

But there’s more to do, because mortgages, rents, groceries, and utility bills are still too high. Harris’ plan to fix it: build more homes to lower prices and make the wealthy and billionaires pay their fair share, so we get a break.

All her life, Kamala Harris has been standing up for us, and she doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon.

Vice President Kamala Harris: I’m Kamala Harris, candidate for president, and I approve this message.

Voiceover: Paid for by Harris for President.
