Grants available to help Wisconsin employers train skilled workers – WisPolitics
The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) encourages employers to apply for the latest Wisconsin Fast Forward grant by Oct. 28, 2024. Companies of all types and sizes across Wisconsin are eligible for the funding to train skilled workers.
The Wisconsin Fast Forward program helps employers develop innovative local and regional solutions that meet their area’s workforce needs. These Industry Sectors Worker Training Grants reimburse customized occupational training costs for unemployed, underemployed, and existing workers. Training that qualifies workers for full-time employment, higher level employment, or increased wages can be reimbursed through grants of $5,000 to $400,000.
“Any business interested in building their pool of skilled workers should consider applying for this grant,” DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said. “The Fast Forward program is an investment in Wisconsin’s workforce, providing a training boost that fills positions while offering workers the skills they need to succeed.”
Eligible applicants include:
- Public agencies.
- Private organizations in all industry sectors.
- A consortium of placement partners with the lead public or private organization serving as the applicant.
- Tribal governing bodies of a federally recognized tribe or band of Native Americans, or an organization appointed by the tribal governing body.
The Deadline to apply is 3 p.m. Central Standard Time on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024. Grant awards range from $5,000 to $400,000.
