The Associated Press reports that Democrats are trying to sabotage the Wisconsin Senate race by recruiting a straw-man candidate to run for the seat and take votes from Republican businessman Eric Hovde.
The “Patriots Run Project,” funded by Democrat donors, recruited Thomas Leager to run in Wisconsin, rounded up thousands of dollars in donations for his campaign, and even helped him with ballot access using a traditionally Democratic firm. One expert in the Associated Press story called the Democrats’ effort a “real problem” that “undermines the function of Democracy.”
