Cooke campaign: Congresswoman Sharice Davids endorses Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s Third District
EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, Cooke for Congress announced the endorsement of Congresswoman Sharice Davids (KS-03). Rep. Davids, a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation and one of the first two Native American women to ever serve in Congress, cited Cooke’s working-class roots and shared values when declaring her support.
“Raised by a single mom who juggled multiple jobs to support my brothers and me, I truly understand the struggles working people face. Rebecca does too. She’ll fight to get big money out of politics, ensuring that the people of Western Wisconsin — not corporations or the top 0.5% of earners — have their voices heard in DC. Her working-class background and proven leadership in her community make her an essential voice that’s needed in Congress,” said Representative Davids.
“I am proud and honored to earn Congresswoman Davids’ support. Her dedication to the people she serves and rural communities as well as her willingness to work with anyone, regardless of partisanship, to get things done are more important than ever. I look forward to partnering with her to deliver for our communities in Congress,” said Cooke.
Rebecca Cooke has earned the support of trusted leaders and organizations, including the Blue Dog PAC, New Democrats Coalition, Communications Workers of America (CWA), American Postal Workers Union (APWU), Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), members of Congress Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME), Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), and Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-CA), among others.
A clear demonstration of momentum, Davids’ endorsement follows the release of the Cooke campaign’s first advertisement of the cycle highlighting her deep Wisconsin roots and drive to get things done for rural communities. Rebecca’s campaign recently announced raising over $600,000 during the second quarter of 2024 and released a poll which shows a dead heat against general election opponent Derrick Van Orden.
