Biden campaign: Senator Elizabeth Warren wraps up Wisconsin tour to stop Trump’s abortion bans

Today, Biden-Harris National Advisory Board Member Senator Elizabeth Warren wrapped up her tour of Wisconsin marking two years since Donald Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. On the two-day tour, Senator Warren made stops in Milwaukee, Madison, Eau Claire, and Hudson.

“When Donald Trump overturned Roe v. Wade, women across Wisconsin were thrown in chaos. Now, he and his allies want to go even further, banning abortion nationwide and leaving women without protected access to birth control and IVF,” said Senator Elizabeth Warren. “It was powerfully important to talk about the stakes of this November’s election with voters in Madison, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, and Hudson. I know this fall, Wisconsin will reject Trump – just like voters did in 2020.”

Last night in Madison, Senator Warren headlined a reproductive rights rally to highlight the threat Donald Trump poses to reproductive freedom. Senator Warren was joined on stage by reproductive rights advocates, including Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin President Tanya Atkinson, Amanda Zurawski, who nearly died because of Trump’s extreme abortion bans and has previously campaigned for the Biden-Harris campaign in Wisconsin, and Laurie Lapp, a medical student and aspiring OBGYN.

In addition to last night’s rally, Senator Warren also hosted panel discussions in Milwaukee and Eau Claire to speak to voters and activists about how, if elected, Donald Trump could further rip away access to reproductive health care, including abortion, IVF, and contraception. She rounded out her tour on Tuesday afternoon with a reproductive rights rally in Hudson to mobilize and engage voters and volunteers around the issue of reproductive freedom. In Eau Claire, Senator Warren was joined by Governor Tony Evers and State Rep. Jodi Emerson.

“The overturning of Roe wasn’t the end; it was just the beginning. If Donald Trump and his allies have their way, they’ll implement extreme abortion bans across the country and even threaten access to contraception and IVF. We must stop their extreme agenda,” said Governor Tony Evers. “President Biden and Vice President Harris have fought tirelessly for a woman’s right to choose, and I’m thrilled to welcome Senator Elizabeth Warren to Wisconsin to underscore what’s at stake this November.”

“Because of Donald Trump, women in Wisconsin have been left wondering whether they will be able to access critical reproductive health care, even including IVF and contraception. But leaders like Senator Warren and Governor Evers are here today to tell us that we can fight back and we can win,” said State Representative Jodi Emerson. “With President Biden and Vice President Harris in the White House, they will keep politicians out of our doctors’ offices. They will make sure that every American has the freedom to make their own decisions about their own body. Our choice in November could not be more clear.”

Donald Trump has proudly taken credit for appointing the Supreme Court judges who overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago. Since then, he and his MAGA allies have not stopped at abortion, putting access to critical reproductive health care from IVF to contraception at risk.
