Baldwin ad hits Hovde on Social Security – WisPolitics
Dem U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin has released a new TV ad hitting GOP rival Eric Hovde on Social Security.
The campaign said it will air statewide, but didn’t provide other details. According to AdImpact, Baldwin and those backing her have $18.9 million reserved on the air from today through the election, compared to $16.9 million laid down by Hovde and those supporting him.
The narrator in the spot says, “Billionaire banker Eric Hovde has a plan for Social Security.” The ad then plays clips from interviews in which Hovde said he favored both raising the retirement age and cutting benefits.
The narrator says Hovde wants to increase the retirement age to as high as 72 and just proposed cutting Social Security by 28%, which would cost the average beneficiary more than $6,000 a year.
The narrator closes the ad, “Eric Hovde, what’s wrong with this guy?”
