Baldwin, state Dem Party tem up in new ad hitting Hovde on abortion – WisPolitics
U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin is out with a new ad hitting GOP rival Eric Hovde on abortion as part of a joint buy with the state Dem Party.
According to AdImpact, the Madison Dem and the state party have reserved $413,395 over the next week on broadcast and cable. As a joint buy, the ad has to have a shared message for the party and the candidate.
The spot features a couple identified as Meagan and Jon Ross, of Eau Claire. She says they found out their baby had severe fetal abnormalities and her life was at risk. But because of “Wisconsin Republicans’ extreme abortion ban,” she had to leave the state to get the care she needed.
Meagan adds Hovde pushed to end Roe v. Wade.
“And in the Senate, Hovde would give Mitch McConnell the majority to ban abortion nationwide,” Meagan says. “No exceptions for rape, incest, or the health of women, like me. What is wrong with these guys?”
