Rae, attending his 6th DNC, says energy in this year’s ‘second to none’

CHICAGO – Jason Rae, secretary of the Democratic National Committee, is only 37 has already seen many conventions.

In this one, he sees something special.

“They’re all different,” Rae said in a WisPolitics-WisconsinEye interview at his sixth convention. “But this one certainly has an energy that is truly second to none.”

There’s something else that’s different – Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the vice presidential candidate.

“I think in particular, he’s going to resonate in districts across the state that are going to put more House races in play, are going to help us with Senate races,” said Rae, who hails from Rice Lake. “I think his story, his experience, his personality, just resonates with folks. There is an energy with Tim Walz that I haven’t seen in V-P candidates before, and I honestly am thrilled that he’s on the ticket.”
