Roth’s new ad in 8th CD primary says he’ll ‘fight tooth and nail to save America’
The narrator in 8th CD GOP candidate Roger Roth’s new TV ad says the former state senator will “fight tooth and nail to save America.”
Roth’s campaign said the spot, his second in the race, is running on broadcast TV in northeastern Wisconsin through Election Day.
According to AdImpact, Roth’s media buy in the race is up to $328,832. Meanwhile, two groups backing him — the Elect Principled Veterans Fund and Speak Free or Die PAC — have a combined $1.7 million laid down. Speak Free or Die PAC also today reported to the FEC another $150,000 media buy.
De Pere businessman Tony Wied is at $757,546, while state Sen. André Jacque, R-De Pere, is at $134,055.
The narrator in Roth’s new ad says the border is open, the economy’s broken, and radicals are “trying to kill our president.” The ad shows several images of Vice President Kamala Harris before showing Donald Trump pumping his fist to a crowd following an assassination attempt.
The narrator says Roth, a veteran, fought in four tours. “In Congress, he’ll fight alongside President Trump to finish the wall, deport criminals and protect our jobs.”
The spot closes with a picture of Roth shaking hands with Trump at an airport. The former president has endorsed Wied, who began an ad earlier this week featuring Trump calling on Roth to drop out of the race.
The winner of the Aug. 13 primary will face Dem Kristin Lyerly, an OB-GYN, in November for the strongly Republican seat.
