A Better Wisconsin Together Action: Applauds Gov. Walz as Harris’ VP Pick, slams Trump and Vance for Anti-Freedom agenda
MADISON, Wis. — A Better Wisconsin Together Action is applauding Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris for continuing to deliver on her promise to protect our rights and build a better future by selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a dedicated advocate for working families and protecting our freedoms, as her running mate.
According to A Better Wisconsin Together Action Deputy Director Mike Browne, Harris’ selection of Gov. Walz as her Vice President brings to the forefront a stark contrast between the Democratic agenda of lifting up working families and expanding our rights and freedoms, and the MAGA Project 2025 agenda of the Trump-Vance campaign that caters to the wealthy few and wants to restrict basic freedoms like voting and reproductive healthcare.
See Browne’s full statement below:
“Selecting Gov. Tim Walz as her pick for Vice President is a direct reflection of Kamala Harris’ commitment to protecting the rights, freedoms, and well-being of all Americans at a time when Republicans, led by Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, are working relentlessly to take us backward.
“While Gov. Walz has spent his career championing issues that matter most to everyday Americans – like expanding access to affordable health care, protecting abortion rights, and lowering costs for working families – Vance has said he supports a national abortion ban, votedagainst protecting IVF, wants to take earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare away from hardworking families, and opposed a bill that would protect interracial and same sex marriage equality.
“We are at a crossroads between two different futures, and the choice is clear. The Trump-Vance ticket that will use Project 2025 to attack our freedoms and our democracy, or the Harris-Walz ticket that will take us forward to a future where working families can get ahead, our elections are safe and secure, and everyone’s rights and freedoms are protected.”
