Democratic Messaging Project: Provocative messages bash Trump, MAGA across downtown Milwaukee buildings during RNC
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Democratic Messaging Project (DMP), a grassroots political action committee working in four key swing states including Wisconsin, is projecting videos and images on buildings across downtown Milwaukee challenging former President Trump and his MAGA movement during the Republican National Convention.
“Nothing about this messaging project is kind to Trump,” said DMP Executive Director, JoAnn Loulan. “Our messaging is designed to highlight President Biden’s vision of hope for America versus Trump’s rampage of idiotic rhetoric and threat of autocracy.”
Messages cover reproductive rights, birth control, gun violence, immigration, and the high cost of drugs. In addition, LED mobile billboards with rotating videos are strategically placed around the convention area and condoms imprinted with “Protect Yourself From Republicans” and “Protect Your Fu*king Freedoms” are being distributed at various event locations.
The building projection efforts are led by Heather Perkins, executive director of Ignite Change, who has been involved in a number of similar guerilla marketing campaigns, aimed at raising awareness for social issues. “America needs a wake up call. I think everybody thinks ‘oh, fascism can’t happen here.’ It can happen,” Perkins said. “There’s a playbook, and Trump is going play-by-play through the playbook.”
According to Lisa Liddle, DMP Project Director, “We need to mobilize voters, the independents, people who don’t think that they’re going to vote at all. They have to understand the stakes. Trump is a clear and present danger to our country and the world. You can help us get the word out and Vote Democrat. Go to blueforyou.org.”
