Photos, video: Host Committee’s Prange says ‘all systems go’ for RNC, tonight’s welcome party despite Trump assassination attempt

It’s “all systems go” for the 2024 Republican National Convention despite Saturday’s assassination attempt against former President Trump, Milwaukee 24 Host Committee COO Alison Prange said today.

Prange spoke to reporters ahead of the Red, White & Brews pre-convention Party at Henry Maier Festival Park, the annual site of Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

Prange said between 13,000 and 15,000 delegates, alternates and guests are expected to attend the event, which features Wisconsin and Milwaukee-themed food and beverages, along with music from local pop cover band Generation Z and country artist Trace Adkins.

“This is our chance to showcase ourselves, not only to the country, but to the world,” Prange said.

Trump arrived in Milwaukee this afternoon, and Prange said she had no word on whether Trump would make an appearance at the event.
