JFC Democrats: Praise Biden-Harris Administration for investment in biohealth tech hub, condemn continued GOP funding delays
MADISON — Today, the Joint Committee on Finance approved matching funds for the Biden-Harris administration’s $49 million grant to the Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub. This funding will support a coalition of 15 organizations dedicated to advancing personalized healthcare in the state.
“The Wisconsin partnership was selected from over 370 applications, bringing with it tens of thousands of high-paying jobs and positioning Wisconsin to become a leader in the biohealth sector. Thanks to this investment from the Biden-Harris Administration, this industry is expected to generate $9 billion in economic development for our state.”
Meanwhile, the Republicans on the Joint Committee on Finance continued to delay the release of $140 million needed to address PFAS contamination and healthcare access in Western Wisconsin by adjourning today’s meeting without taking action.
“Republicans have refused Governor Evers’ call to release $140 million to combat PFAS contamination and stabilize healthcare facilities in Western Wisconsin, the majority of which could have been released over a year ago. JFC Democrats will continue to call out Republicans for playing politics with the health and safety of our communities.”
