Ratcliff campaign: Former Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney endorses Melissa Ratcliff for state senate

Former Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney has endorsed Rep. Melissa Ratcliff for Wisconsin State Senate in the new Senate District 16. He is one of more than 100 current and former elected leaders in Senate District 16 publicly endorsing Ratcliff, more than any other candidate in the race.

“Melissa Ratcliff’s dedication to public service, her knowledge of the issues, her common sense, and her proven track record in making communities safer and stronger set her apart in this race,” Mahoney said. “She will be a great State Senator and I will do all I can to help elect her.”

Dave Mahoney served as Dane County Sheriff for 15 years (2006-2021). Mahoney’s leadership helped modernize the Sheriff’s Department and his initiatives promoted justice and reform throughout the criminal justice system. His 41-year career in law enforcement included service on the local, state and national levels.

“Dave Mahoney exemplifies what it means to be a leader and public servant,” Rep. Ratcliff said. “His love for Dane County, his commitment to making positive change happen, and his remarkable record as Dane County Sheriff are an inspiration. I am honored by his strong support.”
