Disneyland Employees Hospitalized at Theme Park, Hazmat Odor Reports

Disneyland is responding to an alarming situation.
Multiple employees of the Southern California resort were hospitalized after they were exposed to a strange smell that prompted dizziness and shortness of breath, according to the theme park.
“This afternoon, building materials being used by a contractor produced a reaction backstage at Disneyland park, and the area was examined by appropriate response teams,” Disneyland officials told E! News in a March 10 statement. “Several cast members were treated on-site by paramedics and released; and at this time, eight cast members experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath were transported to local hospitals.”
The Disney reps added, “Out of an abundance of caution, adjacent onstage areas were cleared of guests and are expected to reopen soon.”
Earlier in the day, fire officials were dispatched to the Anaheim theme park around 12:30 p.m. local time following a report of an unknown smell in the Tomorrowland section of the resort near the Star Wars-themed attraction Star Tours, Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter told The Los Angeles Times.
