The Redmi K Pad launched in June last year as the brand’s premier flagship small tablet, and according to a new rumor out of China, this device’s successor is already in development.
The Redmi K Pad 2 will allegedly arrive before the end of June, with the same 8.8-inch LCD screen with 165Hz refresh rate and 1880×3008 resolution as its predecessor.
Xiaomi Pad Mini
The new tablet will be powered by the Dimensity 9500 SoC, and will have a 9,000 mAh battery – both are upgrades from the original K Pad’s Dimensity 9400+ and 7,500 mAh, respectively.
The K Pad 2 will have dual X-axis vibration motors, as well as enhanced symmetrical dual speakers which may be Bose branded, in the style of the Redmi K90 Pro Max (though the presence of a subwoofer hasn’t been mentioned for the tablet).
Since the original K Pad was rebranded for some international markets as the Xiaomi Pad Mini, it stands to reason that the K Pad 2 would be offered outside of China as the Xiaomi Pad Mini 2.
