vivo X200T first impressions – GSMArena.com news

vivo today introduced the vivo X200T as the newest member of its X200 series. The smartphone is “engineered for travel and real-world photography,” and it will go on sale in India starting February 3 in two colors – Seaside Lilac and Stellar Black. We spent some time with the Seaside Lilac model, and here are our first impressions of the smartphone.
The vivo X200T comes in a retail box identical to the X200, X200 Pro, and X200 FE. It includes a charging cable, a SIM ejector, some documents, a 90W power adapter, and a high-quality protective case matching the phone’s color.

The vivo X200T has a 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED flat display on the front with a 2,800×1,260-pixel resolution and 5,000 nits peak brightness. vivo calls it the ZEISS Master Color Display as it’s co-developed with ZEISS. The screen is protected by Schott Xensation Core glass and is advertised with HDR10+ and Netflix HDR support.

The display has slim bezels and a centered punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera using the ISOCELL KD1 (1/3.44″) sensor. It has an f/2.0 aperture and can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. Portrait Video remains restricted to 1080p resolution at 30 fps, though.

Additionally, the vivo X200T’s display has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath for biometric authentication, and vivo says it can unlock the smartphone even with damp fingers or in low light. We found the fingerprint scanner to be fast and accurate during the short time we spent with the phone, and we are glad it’s not positioned close to the lower bezel. Placing the fingerprint scanner higher provides a comfortable phone-unlocking experience.

Turn the vivo X200T around, and you see a circular camera island, which could remind you of the X200 or the X200 Pro. The camera island houses three cameras co-developed with ZEISS – a 50MP primary camera (15mm), a 50MP ultrawide camera (23mm), and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera (70mm).

The primary and telephoto cameras have ZEISS T* coating, but only the former has OIS. The primary camera uses the Sony IMX921 sensor and has an f/1.57 aperture, while the telephoto camera employs the Sony IMX882 sensor and has an f/2.57 aperture. The telephoto unit supports up to 100x “ZEISS HyperZoom” and 20x telephoto macro. The ultrawide camera has an f/2.0 aperture and uses the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.

The vivo X200T’s primary camera, like the selfie camera, can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. You can also click photos in Portrait Mode with five focal lengths – 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm.
Additionally, the vivo X200T comes with some AI-powered photography features, including AI Weather Filters and AI Landscape Master. It also comes with the India-exclusive Holi AIGC, which uses AI to automatically identify “subjects and festive settings, creating vivid, colorful portraits that radiate the joy of the Holi festival.”
The Seaside Lilac version, which is 2 g lighter than the Stellar Black model and is the subject of this article, looks lovely in person. Its glass back panel is sandblasted with a nano-coating and is smudge-resistant.

The X200T has flat metal frames, and on the right frame are the power button and volume rocker, both with good feedback. At the bottom is the USB-C port, flanked by the SIM card slot, primary microphone, and a speaker grille. Up top is the secondary mic and an IR blaster.
The vivo X200T has a solid build, and we really like its overall design. The X200T isn’t as compact as the X200 FE, but it’s still pretty comfortable to hold and use with one hand.
Under the hood, we have the Dimensity 9400+ SoC and V2 imaging chip with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The X200T boots Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and comes with a promise of five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, which is impressive.

Keeping the vivo X200T up and running is a 6,200 mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. It also supports bypass charging when gaming. Other highlights of the vivo X200T include NFC, stereo speakers, eSIM support, and a 4.5K Liquid Cooling Vapor Chamber.
The vivo X200T’s 12GB/256GB model is priced at INR59,999 in India, while the 12GB/512GB version is priced at INR69,999. Both will go on sale in India starting February 3 through vivo’s official Indian website, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.
