Giffords: Gun safety victory: Tammy Baldwin reelected as Wisconsin’s senator
WASHINGTON — GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, congratulated Sen. Tammy Baldwin on securing her reelection to the United States Senate, where she will serve her third term.
“As a gun owner herself, Senator Baldwin knows that responsible gun ownership and commonsense legislation designed to save lives go hand in hand,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. “Senator Baldwin is committed to doing something about it. She will continue to ensure all Americans are safe and protected in their communities, rather than living in fear of gun violence. I am thrilled to extend my sincere congratulations to Senator Baldwin for her victory.”
Baldwin has been a consistent gun safety advocate throughout her time in office. In 2022, she helped pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and in 2023, she helped introduce the Background Check Expansion Act, the Background Check Completion Act and the Assault Weapons Ban of 2023.
