Progress Action Fund: 150 million views & counting: Democratic Super PAC releases 3 new viral ads with the Republican congressman invading your privacy
ICYMI: Democratic super PAC Progress Action Fund, creators of “Keep Republicans Out Of Your Bedroom,” announced creepy new ads for the 2024 elections, “Republicans Rubbing You The Wrong Way,” “Republicans In Your Bedroom – Part 2,” and “Republicans Killing Your Wife.”
These ads have been seen over 150 million times across social media over the past week. These ads caused a firestorm on the right, leading to several tweets from right-wing activists, including Donald Trump’s official campaign account, denouncing adult videos even though over 90% of men have reported watching porn and Trump himself had an extramarital affair with noted porn star Stormy Daniels. Right-wing activists have also begun to blur out the woman in “Republicans In Your Bedroom – Part 2,” creating a “Streisand effect” as more people rush to view the undoctored version.
This ad is part of a $3.5 million ad buy announced by Progress Action Fund last week. These and PAF’s other viral ads will run on connected TVs, streaming services, and online platforms in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and North Carolina.

THE HILL – Democratic groups launch ad painting GOP as extreme on porn censorship
“Two Democratic groups are rolling out an ad featuring a fictitious Republican lawmaker who wants to ban porn nationwide, the latest installment of the groups’ $2.5 million ad campaign accusing the GOP of interfering in people’s lives.
In the 30-second ad rolled out by Progress Action Fund and Defend the Vote, called “Republicans Rubbing You the Wrong Way,” a young man is shown watching porn before an actor playing a Republican congressman takes away his phone.”
“We want to show the American people — not tell them — what Republicans are trying to do in their bedroom and in their personal lives,” Jacobson told The Post, adding that more ads are in the works.”
Fox News – ”Vulgar pro-porn ad for Dems shows man in sex act”
“A new advertisement by a group supporting Democratic candidates shows a man involved in a solitary sex act being interrupted by a fictional Republican, who informs the man that the GOP has banned porn nationwide..”
Newsweek – Anti-Republican ‘MAGA In Your Sheets’ Ad Takes Off Online
“Nick Knudsen, co-founder and executive director of DemCast, posted the video on X, claiming that the ad “when tested, moves men under 30 more than 2 points away from Donald Trump.”
“I felt compelled to post the ad because so many ads about reproductive rights focus on the woman. But these bans and restrictions impact men, too. Guys need to understand the downstream consequences of their MAGA votes,” Knudsen told Newsweek.”
LA Times: The election is supposedly about women’s issues. Why are the media so obsessed with men?
“Fixating on the male voter does make sense in other quarters, like a controversial ad created by the Progress Action Fund now airing in swing states. It uses the intrinsically female issue of abortion and turns it into an issue for men. In the ad, a couple are having sex when his condom breaks. She tells her partner that there’s Plan B (the morning-after pill used to prevent pregnancy) in the bathroom.
He finds the medication in the cabinet over the sink, but is startled by the sudden appearance of an older, suit-clad man behind him. “Sorry, you can’t use that,” says the stranger, who then identifies himself. “I’m your Republican congressman. Now that we’re in charge, we banned Plan B.”
“You can’t do this,” pleads the young man. “I can’t have a kid right now.” The GOP congressman is unmoved. “I won the last election, so it’s my decision. Now let’s get back in there so we can give her the news, Daddy.”
Audacy – “New ad claims GOP wants to ban porn nationwide
“Of the many proposals in Project 2025, a conservative policy agenda for the next Republican presidency, one of them includes a ban on pornography. Project 2025 calls porn “as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime…Created by people closely allied with former President Donald Trump’s campaign and funded by the influential Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 outlines a comprehensive plan for a government-in-waiting that aims to implement a vision aligned with Trump-era conservatism and strengthen the power of the White House. “
The Nation – “Donald Trump Makes American Women an Offer They Can’t Refuse”
“Progress Action Fund has released an incendiary ad on social media that opens with a young couple making love. The condom breaks and so the young man goes to bathroom to get Plan B, but he’s stopped by a Republican congressman who says that contraceptives are now illegal and he should prepare to become a “daddy.”
“The election remains, by all evidence, very close. But one reason to be optimistic about Harris’s chances is that her campaign and its allies have figured out a message of freedom that is energizing women, and even bringing a critical mass of men along.”
