In dueling rallies, Trump says Biden, Harris ‘hate Americans,’ Harris calls Trump ‘unstable, obsessed with revenge’

Donald Trump at a rally in Green Bay today said his supporters are “far higher quality” than Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s, and that the president and VP “hate Americans.”

Meanwhile, Harris at a rally in Madison said Trump is “unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance and out for unchecked power.”

Trump and Harris both made their case to Wisconsinites at dueling rallies just six days before Election Day. Today’s stops marked Trump’s eighth visit to a Wisconsin city since accepting the GOP nomination in July and Harris’ 11th since Biden dropped out of the race in July.

The two candidates are set to hold competing Wisconsin rallies again on Friday, both in Milwaukee. Trump will speak at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, while Harris’ campaign has yet to announce the venue. Harris will also visit Outagamie County.

Before speaking at today’s rally, Trump arrived in a garbage truck wearing an orange safety vest to highlight Biden’s response to offensive comments comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made at a Trump rally over the weekend. Trump said the truck was “in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”

Biden sparked backlash from Republicans yesterday for his response to Hinchcliffe calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Biden said he was referring to Hinchcliffe’s rhetoric toward Latinos when he said “the only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s.” But Republicans said Biden’s remark was directed at Trump backers.

While speaking at the Resch Center, Trump said Biden had “finally said what he and Kamala really think of our supporters.”

“And they actually mean it, even though — without question — my supporters are far higher quality than crooked Joe or lyin’ Kamala. … My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple: You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans,” Trump said. “It’s true. You can’t be president if you hate the American people, which I believe they do.”

Trump also said Harris’ speech in Washington, D.C. yesterday was “boring as hell.” He said Harris only talked about him, and played a clip of her saying his name repeatedly.

“That’s all she talked about because she and Joe have absolutely no achievements, they only have failure and gloom and death,” Trump said.

He said to Harris: “you’re fired, get the hell out of here.”

Before Trump spoke, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre said “it’s time to bench Kamala and put in the star quarterback.” Favre also blasted Biden’s comments.

“I can assure you, we’re not garbage,” Favre said. “How dare he say that? Looking out, I see police officers, teachers, nurses, grandparents, students. I see everyday Americans that make this country great.”

Harris in Madison said she would pledge to listen to those who disagree with her, unlike the former president.

“He wants to put them in jail,” Harris said. “I’ll give them a seat at my table.”

“On day one, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. You know he talks about the enemies from within,” Harris said. “When I’m elected, I will walk in with a to-do list focused on your needs.”

She added Trump “is not someone who is going to make your life better,” saying he is “unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance and out for unchecked power.”

Harris said Trump would ban abortion nationwide, including in Wisconsin.

“And he would restrict access to birth control, put IVF treatments at risk and force states to monitor women’s pregnancies,” Harris said. “Just Google Project 2025.”

Harris was joined at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center by artists Gracie Abrams and Mumford & Sons, who performed before her speech.

At the beginning of Harris’ speech, protesters from different parts of the stadium calling for a ceasefire in Gaza unveiled banners and yelled out, to which Harris responded, “we all want the war in Gaza to end and get the hostages out.”

“But right now, I am speaking,” Harris said.
