Yee campaign: ICYMI: Representative Snyder says abortion care shouldn’t be accessible because women need to be held “Accountable For Their Actions”
WAUSAU, WI – Two and a half weeks before voters in the 85th Assembly District are set to decide who their next Representative is, Pat Snyder showed us once again how out of touch his views are – especially on a woman’s right to make decisions about their own reproductive healthcare. In an interview on October 18 on the Meg Ellefson Show, Pat Snyder said that he doesn’t want accessible abortion care because people need to be taught to be “accountable for their actions” (WSAU 10/18/2024).
Pat Snyder has an appalling history when it comes to the deeply personal decision on what a woman should do with her own reproductive healthcare. Snyder has compared abortion to “genocide” and women who have had them as “absolutley disgusting”. Snyder voted to keep an archaic and dangerous 1849 law that bans abortion even for rape and incest and punishes doctors and nurses with jail time. Snyder is so extreme that he even voted against guaranteeing access to contraception and fertility treatments.
“I believe that every Wisconsinite deserves the freedom to make their own decisions regarding their reproductive healthcare,” said Xiong. “Patients need and deserve access to compassionate and appropriate medical care, especially when they are faced with an unexpected or dangerous pregnancy. Snyder has a right to his position. We have a right to vote.”
