Presents Senator Dan Feyen award for advocacy on child care tax credit bill and teacher apprenticeship bill – WisPolitics

FOND DU LAC, WI: Today, IRG Action Fund thanked Senator Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) for his work last session and his exceptional efforts in advancing legislation to create an employer child care tax credit and a statewide teacher apprenticeship program by presenting him with the ‘Champion of Economic Prosperity’ award.

What Happened: This award recognizes Senator Feyen for authoring Senate Bill (SB) 917 and SB 623, bills that tackled two of the largest challenges facing Wisconsin – child care access and teacher shortages. The employer child care tax credit bill (SB 623) would have helped to expand access and availability of child care in our state and the teacher apprenticeship bill (SB 917) aimed to create a structured pathway for aspiring educators to gain hands-on experience while earning their credentials.

The Quote

“Fixing child care and finding more qualified teachers are vital issues for our state’s success. We praise Senator Feyen for his steadfast focus on these important issues,” said Chris Reader, Executive Vice President of IRG Action Fund.
