Welcomes President Biden to Milwaukee, celebrates further advancements in apprenticeship programs and good union careers for Wisconsin workers – WisPolitics

Stephanie Bloomingdale, President of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, released the following statement as President Biden visits Milwaukee to discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s progress on replacing lead pipes and creating good-paying union jobs through the Investing in America Milwaukee Workforce Hub:

“Wisconsin workers are proud to welcome President Biden to Milwaukee today as we highlight all the great progress that has been made and that we will continue to make thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on removing harmful lead pipes from our neighborhoods. Through our union apprenticeship programs bolstered by the Biden-Harris administration with the Milwaukee Workforce Hub, union workers are training the next generation of workers on how to safely perform lead abatement work so that our children can have safe drinking water. Union careers change lives. Having a union card in your back pocket is a pathway into the middle class. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, together with our unions, are helping to build healthy communities by making needed infrastructure investments, expanding union apprenticeship programs, and connecting workers with lifelong economic opportunity through a good union career.”
