How GTreasury Built Onboarding Training That Cuts Costs By 90%
Streamlined Management, Seamless Learning
GTreasury is the leading innovator of integrated SaaS treasury and risk management solutions for the digital treasurer.
Wanting to achieve its ambitious goals to develop its people, satisfy its 700+ customers, and grow the business, GTreasury leverages LearnUpon to achieve all three. By introducing standardized learning, the business is transforming how it trains its people, leading to remarkably efficient employee onboarding and better-served customers.
Our primary onboarding started off with our support team. It would take them 6–9 months before they even started to become productive. With what we [GTreasury] put into our LearnUpon platform, we’re down to almost 3–4 weeks. We’ve made a tremendous amount of improvement as far as time to value.

The Challenge: Slow Onboarding, High Turnover
Like many growing companies, GTreasury did do some training; however, it was manual and inconsistent. This led to significant challenges, like slow customer response times, difficult training remotely, and high turnover in the Global Support Analysts team. Plus, with new hires taking 6–9 months to onboard, this was time the business couldn’t afford to waste.
Joining GTreasury in 2021, Riyaz Adamjee, GTreasury’s VP of Global Learning Services, was tasked with building a new learning strategy “from scratch.”
Recognizing the need to introduce a more formal way of learning, Riyaz decided to invest in a Learning Management System (LMS). With the LMS playing a central role, the objective was to standardize and streamline learning to ensure every new hire was equipped with the knowledge and skills they needed to effectively do their jobs.
The Solution: Getting People Productive “Really, Really Quickly”
Leading the charge, Riyaz and the Global Learning Services team overhauled GTreasury’s learning with LearnUpon as their LMS of choice.
Using LearnUpon, the team built a sophisticated, global-reaching compliance and onboarding program that was distinct for each of their employees and, most importantly, made the whole learning process faster and more efficient than ever before.
We had to rethink how we hire, onboard, and grow our team. Our New Hire Onboarding program, built on LearnUpon’s intuitive LMS platform, has been critical in speeding up the productivity of new team members.

From 6–9 Months To 3 Weeks
For GTreasury, the results have been impressive. For all employees, new hire orientation has been reduced from 1–2 weeks to just 2 days, and in some cases, less than a day.
To achieve these results, Riyaz and his team first optimized GTreasury’s HR orientation process. Rather than being delivered face-to-face, orientation is now available through on-demand courses in LearnUpon, alongside a one-hour region-specific Q&A session.
Then, for onboarding, the team recognized that a one-size-fits-all approach wasn’t going to cut it. Instead, using LearnUpon’s Groups and Learning paths, they segmented each employee based on role. This means that when a new hire joins GTreasury, they’re automatically enrolled in courses that are tailored to them and their role, providing them with the skills and resources they need to be successful.
This strategy has had the biggest impact on GTreasury’s Support team. Originally wanting to reduce onboarding time from 6–9 months to 3–6 months, using LearnUpon, Riyaz and his team reduced it to just 3 weeks. Cost savings were substantial, too. Previously, it cost $48,000 to onboard a new hire, and with LearnUpon, it’s now down to $4,800, saving GTreasury over $900,000 across 21 hires.
Not only is GTreasury saving time and money, but it’s also better serving its customers. With its Support team now being effectively onboarded, they’re more skilled to handle complex tickets faster, and this has led to a 50% reduction in the team’s average time to close a ticket.
Streamlined Management, Seamless Learning
Making everything “even easier,” says Riyaz, is LearnUpon’s out-of-the-box integration with GTreasury’s HRIS, BambooHR. Instead of having to add each employee to LearnUpon individually, new hires are automatically created and invited to LearnUpon once they’re added to BambooHR—zero admin effort needed.
Added to this is LearnUpon’s ease of use. Once invited to the platform, Riyaz is confident that every employee can easily access and take the learning they need—something that is saving his team lots of time and effort.
When we launch the platform [LearnUpon], we don’t train. We don’t train them how to use it; we just let them do their thing. And, I would say, 95% of the people have never had an issue with it. The user experience has been fabulous.

Up Next: Employees, Partners, Clients, And Beyond…
For Riyaz and the GTreasury team, they believe their journey with LearnUpon is just beginning.
Using LearnUpon’s analytics and reporting, they’re digging for invaluable insights to improve and expand the learning they’re providing to their employees. And they’re expanding their learning by rolling out programs to two new audiences—channel partners and clients—using LearnUpon’s Portals to replicate the success they’ve already had.
