Protect Wisconsin’s Constitution-Vote No is out with a new TV ad that warns the proposed amendments are a “power grab to give the MAGA politicians in the legislature the sole power to distribute emergency funding.”
Protect Wisconsin’s Constitution-Vote No previously announced a more than $1 million buy opposing the referendum questions.
Like with the previous ad, the new spot calls the questions “misleading” and a “trick to eliminate checkers and balances in our government.”
The new version knocks “MAGA politicians” before closing, “They gerrymander, deny elections and push abortion bans. Don’t give MAGA politicians the sole power. Vote ‘no’ to questions 1 and 2.”
The questions ask whether the Wisconsin Constitution should be amended:
- ”to provide that the legislature may not delegate its sole power to determine how moneys shall be appropriated?”
- and “to prohibit the governor from allocating any federal moneys the governor accepts on behalf of the state without the approval of the legislature by joint resolution or as provided by legislative rule?”
