Spector Roh Strategies: Vice President Harris’ visit to Milwaukee highlights what’s at stake in November: 300,000+ clean energy jobs and hundreds of environmental protections

Milwaukee, WI — Today, Vice President Kamala Harris is making her first stop as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president to Wisconsin, which stands to lose $940.7 million in investments and 1,962 clean energy jobs if Trump wins the presidency in November. The Biden-Harris administration’s clean energy plan has created more than 300,000 clean energy jobs across the country, but congressional Republicans have voted to repeal it more than 42 times. According to recent polling, 65% of residents of Wisconsin say climate is important to their vote. 

“Kamala Harris is a climate champion who will continue the historic progress of the Biden-Harris administration that has created close to 2,000 jobs in Wisconsin and helped clean up our air and water, “ said Alex Glass, managing director of communications for Climate Power. “The consequences for climate in this election could not be more stark. Kamala Harris has held Big Oil accountable for their greed and pollution, while Donald Trump has asked them to fund his campaign in exchange for fulfilling their dangerous Project 2025 agenda.”

While Trump prioritizes profits over people, Vice President Harris stands up for working families. The Biden-Harris administration put the United States on a path to create 9 million jobs by 2032, cementing American leadership over China in clean energy and cars while tripling American production of clean, renewable energy. The Biden-Harris administration accelerated investments to replace lead pipes and deliver safe drinking water while also slashing soot pollution, preventing asthma attacks, and reducing costs. 

A second Trump term promises to be, in the words of Politico, “an all-out war on climate science and policies” in which Trump would be, in his own words, a “dictator” on “day one”.  Since the passage of the Biden-Harris administration’s clean energy plan, congressional Republicans have voted to repeal it more than 42 times. If Trump wins in November, his supporters expect a “battle” against climate science in his second term. He’s all but guaranteed to gut the plan, jeopardizing 300,000 clean energy jobs and devastating Wisconsin’s clean energy economy.
